Prayer is the act of exercising
influence on God, just as a wife exercise influence on the husband, likewise as
a queen exercises influence on the king. A prayer was given to us, to enable us
establish the will of God for our lives, the will of God for our Community etc
.God has great and awesome plans for us. The God of nation is the God of the
individual .Everyone is loaded with the expectation of God; there are things
God has installed for us. And He has invited us to call unto Him, that He will
answer if only we called Him with a pure heart and then He will begin to show
us these great and mighty things which we know not.
However, some People can live their
lives without even experiencing a minute plan of God unto their lives because
of a lack of revelation or understanding of the principle of prayer. There is
one thing, prayer does not do. Prayer dose not thwart the will of God .But
prayer can help us include certain things in God’s plan, which God did not
really put into His plan. For example when you remember, Abraham talking with God,
concerning the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. God had a plan to go forth
and destroy, but a man was now busy negotiating with God, to add some things,
for the preservation of others. There are times, God Himself decides to embark on
a project especially to destroy nation or deal with some different kinds of
people. Prayer can avert it. Prayer can even make God, Hold it for a moment. it
was seen in the scriptures, Hezekiah; God told him by his prophet whose word
always come to pass, told him to go and prepare his house for it is time for
him to die. And this man looked towards the wall and called upon God in prayer.
Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted
devotion and have done what is good in your eyes. And Hezekiah wept bitterly. Before
Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD come to him; Go back and
tell Hezekiah ,the leader of my people, This
is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says; I have heard
your prayers and seen your tears’ I will heal you. On the third day
from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD. Verse 6 of 2 King chapter
20: still talking about Hezekiah; I will add fifteen years to your life. And I
will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will
defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David’’. There had
never any battle you cannot win with prayer .Being it heavy battle against your
predicaments; failure or any other battle else.
